What is the Bedbinder?
The Bedbinder is a wide band with three straps and buckles that holds two separate mattresses together. The Bedbinder Deluxe measures 80 by 260 cm (31.5 by 102 inches) and is only 0.1 cm (0.04 inch) thick. It lies across the middle of the bed, while the straps run under both mattresses and buckle on the underside. So the mattresses can't drift apart, whether they sit on one base, two bases or two twin beds pushed together.

At night you push the two mattresses snug against each other. But every time one of you turns over, one of them slides a little. So by morning, the gap is back.

Push the mattresses as close together as you can. Lay the Bedbinder across the middle of the bed: straps on one side, buckles on the other.

Lift the side of each mattress a little and pull the straps under it, over to the buckle side.
Buckle up and tuck under
Thread the straps through the buckles and pull them snug. Not too tight: once the mattresses can't move apart, it's right. Then tuck the buckles under the mattress.

And then?
Then make it up as one bed: a mattress pad and one large fitted sheet over both, because what you have now is one bed. On an adjustable bed, use a split-top mattress pad and fitted sheet. In the first week the band can settle a little, so check it then and tighten the straps a touch if needed.
Will it fit my bed?
Only the width and the height matter: 140 to 200 cm (55 to 79 inches) wide in total, with mattresses 15 to 35 cm (6 to 14 inches) thick. How long your bed is makes no difference. Does only the head section move? Then place the Bedbinder a little lower, between the hinge points.

Is it a bed binder or a Bedbinder?
Many people write bed binder. The product is called the Bedbinder, made by Bedbinder Deluxe: a wide band with three straps and buckles that holds two separate mattresses together. The band lies flat across the middle and the straps run under both mattresses. Daniël invented it, and it has been sold since 2014.
Will the Bedbinder fit our bed?
Yes, if your two mattresses together are 140 to 200 cm (55 to 79 inches) wide and 15 to 35 cm (6 to 14 inches) thick. That covers two twins side by side, or two twin XLs pushed together into a king. It works on foam, pocket spring, latex and hybrid mattresses.
Does the Bedbinder work on a split king adjustable bed?
Yes, if only the head section moves. Place the Bedbinder a little lower, on the flat part between the hinge points. If the head and the foot both move, we don't recommend it.
Can I turn two twin beds into a king with it?
Yes. Two twin XL mattresses side by side are king size, and the Bedbinder holds them together as one bed. Push the bed frames tight together first, then put the Bedbinder on.
Will I feel the Bedbinder when I lie on it?
No. It's only 0.1 cm (0.04 inch) thick and lies flat under your mattress pad and fitted sheet. As one customer put it, you simply forget you had two separate mattresses.
Is the Bedbinder the same as a bed bridge or a mattress connector?

What happens if a buckle breaks?
If a buckle breaks within 7 years, you get a whole new Bedbinder. The buckles are rounded industrial nylon, on purpose not metal: metal can damage your mattress and sheets, nylon can go in the washing machine, and the whole Bedbinder holds 550 kg (1,212 lbs).
Which fitted sheet do I use with the Bedbinder?
One large fitted sheet over both mattresses. First the Bedbinder goes around the mattresses, then a mattress pad, then the fitted sheet. On an adjustable bed, use a split-top mattress pad and fitted sheet.
