What would you like to know about the Bedbinder Deluxe?
Honest answers on comfort, fitting, bed types, ordering and guarantee. Including the times when the answer is that you do not need a Bedbinder.
What is the Bedbinder and how does it feel?
The difference from a foam wedge, and what you notice at night.
What is the Bedbinder Deluxe?
The Bedbinder Deluxe is a bed bridge: a wide strap around both mattresses that pulls them tightly together. The gap disappears, the mattresses can no longer slide apart, and under your fitted sheet you see nothing of it.
What is the difference between a mattress wedge and the Bedbinder?
A wedge is a vertical solution: it sits in the gap and fills it, but does not connect the mattresses, so they can still slide apart. The Bedbinder is a horizontal solution that goes around both mattresses and solves the gap and the sliding at once. It is not a kind of wedge, it is a different category.
Can you feel the Bedbinder when you lie on it?
With a topper or fitted sheet over it: invisible and not noticeable. Without a topper you feel the position of the strap slightly.
Does the Bedbinder really close the gap completely?
The Bedbinder pulls the mattresses tightly together so the gap stays closed. On mattresses with strongly rounded edges a narrow seam can remain visible. A topper or thick mattress protector finishes the surface off.
Why is the Bedbinder more expensive than a wedge?
A wedge costs 10 to 20 euro, but the foam collapses and it does not stop the sliding. The Bedbinder is 49.95 euro once: washable at 30 degrees, OEKO-TEX certified and with a 7 year guarantee on the buckles.
Can a fitted sheet hold the mattresses together?
A tight fitted sheet over both mattresses holds them loosely together, but it is not strong enough to keep heavy mattresses together for long. The Bedbinder uses a strap system that keeps them firmly connected every night.
How do you get it around your mattresses?
On in 60 seconds, no tools needed.
How do I fit the Bedbinder?
Lay the Bedbinder over the middle where your two mattresses meet. Pull the straps underneath the mattresses and click the three buckles shut. Tighten lightly and you are done. No tools required.
How long does fitting take?
Fitting takes about 60 seconds. You lay the Bedbinder down, pull the straps under the mattresses and close the buckles.
Can I fit the Bedbinder on my own?
You can do it alone, but it is easier with two people, because you lift the mattresses briefly to pass the straps underneath.
Do I have to remove the Bedbinder when changing the bed?
No. The Bedbinder stays in place while you change the fitted sheet.
Will it fit your bed?
Box spring, adjustable base or two separate beds: these are the honest limits.
Will the Bedbinder fit our bed?
The Bedbinder Deluxe fits beds and box springs from 140 to 200 cm wide. One Bedbinder is enough, from double to king size.
Does the Bedbinder work on a slippery box spring?
Yes, especially there. Box springs have a smooth fabric on which mattresses walk easily. The Bedbinder pulls both mattresses together and fits box springs from 140 to 200 cm wide.
Does the Bedbinder work on an adjustable bed?
Yes, as long as only the head end moves. If both head and foot end move, the 80 cm version is not suitable. For that situation there is a 60 cm version, which you order through our contact page.
Does the Bedbinder work with two mattresses of different heights?
Yes. The strap system pulls both mattresses tightly together. A small height difference is evened out with a topper.
Can I join two single beds into a double bed?
Yes, that is exactly what the Bedbinder is for. You push the beds together and connect the mattresses with the strap so they feel like one bed.
