Foam bed bridge: fills the gap, holds nothing
A foam bed bridge is a strip of foam, often T-shaped, that you lay in the gap between two mattresses. The flat top goes under your sheet and the stem fills the gap, so the middle is covered for as long as it stays in place.
But it isn't attached to anything. On a box spring the mattresses slide over the smooth fabric, so the foam slides along and the gap comes back. Choose foam only when the frame keeps the mattresses from moving, and expect a ridge where the foam sits.
Twin to king converter kit: foam plus a strap
Most twin to king kits pair a foam bridge with a long strap that runs around both mattresses. So the strap pulls the mattresses in, while the foam fills what is left of the gap.

Topper over both mattresses: covers the seam
A topper across both mattresses hides the seam under one soft layer, so the edge is harder to feel. But underneath, the two mattresses can still drift apart, and a smooth topper moves right along with them.
That is why a topper works best together with a bed bridge that holds the mattresses: connect them first, then put the topper on top.

Is the foam halfway out of the crack again after a few nights?
That isn't the brand's fault. Most bed bridges are the same kind of thing: a piece of foam you lay in the gap. They differ in shape and size, not in what they do.
So first decide what your bed needs: filling or holding. Only then pick the product.

Take out the foam and push the mattresses as close together as you can. Lay the Bedbinder across the middle of the bed: straps on one side, buckles on the other.

Lift the side of each mattress a little and pull the straps under it, over to the buckle side.
Buckle up and tuck under
Thread the straps through the buckles and pull them snug. Not too tight: once the mattresses can't move apart, that's tight enough. Then tuck the buckles under the mattress.

After that, put one mattress pad and one large fitted sheet over both mattresses. Two separate fitted sheets no longer work, because the mattresses are now held together as one bed. In the first week the band can settle a little, so check it once and tighten the straps slightly if needed.

Adjustable bed: yes, if only the head moves
If only the head section rises, the Bedbinder sits on the flat part between the hinge points, a little lower than usual. Loose foam tends to creep out every time the bed changes position. If the head and the foot both move separately, we don't recommend the Bedbinder.
Box spring: hold the mattresses, don't just fill the gap
On the smooth fabric of a box spring the mattresses slide, and loose foam slides with them. Here the Bedbinder holds both mattresses together, without attaching anything to the base.
Two twin beds: push the frames together first
Two twin XL mattresses side by side make a king. Push the bed frames tight together, and the Bedbinder holds the mattresses as one bed. It fits any pair that measures 55 to 79 inches (140 to 200 cm) wide in total.
Wooden sides or a guest bed: foam can be enough
If the frame keeps the mattresses in place, a foam bridge only has to fill the gap, and for a few nights a year that is often enough. Expect a ridge in the middle, though. If the bed gets used every night, the Bedbinder keeps it flat and together.
